Rawlins honors volunteer Kyle for long service to K‑9 program and community

At the start of its Nov. 18 meeting Rawlins City Council and the Rollins (Rawlins) Volunteer Committee presented the Community Builder Award for November 2025 to Kyle in recognition of decades of volunteer work. Alan (presenter) and other committee members highlighted Kyle’s long service in law enforcement, search and rescue and his role training 'between 800 and a thousand dogs,' according to the nomination read at the meeting.
A nomination letter from the Rollins Police Department (read aloud) says Kyle has donated time and money in support of the city’s canine program and that his hands‑on involvement 'ensures that our program operates at a high level and remains effective in serving the public.' Kyle accepted the award and recounted local volunteer acts — shoveling neighbors’ driveways during storms, helping the interim city manager and offering free assistance to older residents.
Mayor and council members thanked Kyle for his service. The award is presented monthly by the city’s volunteer committee to individuals, businesses and organizations whose volunteerism benefits the community.
