Audit Committee approves minutes, votes to enter closed session after public briefing

At the Nov. 17 meeting the Fairfax County School Board Audit Committee approved the Sept. 15, 2025 audit committee minutes and later voted to enter closed session to discuss personnel, legal advice and contracts.
The minutes approval was moved by Mister Moon and seconded by Nanette; the committee approved the minutes "with leave for the clerk to correct any formatting, technical or grammatical errors," and the record states the vote was unanimous among those at the table.
Near the meeting’s end, OAG indicated it had completed a performance audit of health care claims management; Monia (OAG) said the results would not be shared in public because of statutory exemptions and the committee made a motion (Mister Moon) seconded by Mister McDaniel to go into closed meeting pursuant to the Code of Virginia to discuss personnel matters and to consult with counsel about specific matters requiring legal advice; the motion carried unanimously for those present.
