Buckeye highlights Heart Walk turnout, welcomes new deputy city manager

Doug said the city had about 159 participants at the Heart Walk, a cited 65% increase over the prior year, and that team Buckeye won a 30-day "Move It" challenge in which 75 city employees logged a combined total of 70,000 minutes of activity. He credited wellness manager Vanessa Rojo for coordinating the program.
Doug also used the report to introduce and welcome Jared Askelson as the new deputy city manager at his first council meeting, and to thank Cindy Camaratta for serving as interim deputy city manager over the previous three months.
Mayor and council responded with light remarks and no formal action was associated with the report.
