Legal and policy staff presented a small definitional change in paragraphs 3 and 4 to include a parenthetical tying protections to federal civil‑rights statutes. A trustee moved to approve the policy as a second and final reading; the board seconded the motion and approved it by voice vote. The district’s law-and-policy team will post the updated rule and distribute it to staff and stakeholders.
The policy update was taken after the meeting resumed business following a lengthy public hearing on the Area 5 PAC study.
