School Committee approves minutes, consent agenda and multiple MOAs; adjourns after executive session

At its Nov. 18 meeting, the Longmeadow School Committee completed several procedural votes and approved memoranda of agreement addressing compensation and short‑term staffing coverage.

The committee approved the Oct. 28, 2025 meeting minutes by roll call after a motion from a committee member (motion moved and seconded). The committee then approved the consent agenda, which included five building‑use requests for spring dance recitals and related activities. Votes were taken by roll call; members recorded in the transcripts include Emily Hanson, Adam, Kate Bean and Zach (all voting in favor).

In new business, the committee approved a memorandum of agreement negotiated with the Longmeadow Education Association (Unit A) to update stipends for certain extracurricular activities and to adjust compensation for existing or newly reinstated clubs. The administration described the MOA as the work of a stipend committee formed during the last contract negotiation; committee members asked clarifying questions and then approved the MOA by roll call.

Following an executive session held under Massachusetts General Law chapter 30A, §21(a) for collective bargaining strategy, the committee reconvened in open session and approved two additional MOAs addressing coverage for Longmeadow High School world‑language and math classes created by staffing vacancies. The MOAs recognize additional course sections assigned to current teachers and provide compensation for the extra duties. All MOAs were approved by roll call; the transcript records affirmative votes by committee members present.

The final formal action was a motion to adjourn, which the committee approved by roll call.
