The Murfreesboro Planning Commission conducted a series of routine approvals on Nov. 19, advancing plats and site‑plan items and forwarding a referral on an easement to City Council.
Key approvals included:
- A 5‑foot black aluminum fence and associated site plan for a dog park at Henley Station Apartments (staff recommended approval; motion carried).
- A 5‑foot black aluminum fence at Redstone Federal Credit Union (2404 Medical Center Parkway); staff recommended approval and the commission approved the design review.
- Preliminary plat approval for Clary Park, Lot 16 (three lots on 6.44 acres) and related horizontal property regime plats for Promenade at Clary Park Phase 2 (88 units) and Clary Park Lot 18 (80 units); staff recommended approval for all three with conditions and the commission voted to approve subject to staff comments.
- Manchester Farms final plat (one lot on 34.8 acres) was approved subject to staff conditions; staff noted required right‑of‑way dedication and sanitary sewer easements and recommended approval.
- A mandatory referral from a private applicant (Mr. Hazlett) to abandon a drainage and detention easement on Lot 9 of the Swanson development along Captain Joe Fulghum Drive was presented by Mr. Anthony. Staff and an engineering consultant reviewed calculations and concluded the easement was excess; the commission voted to forward a recommendation of approval to City Council with staff conditions.
Votes on routine consent and approval items were recorded by voice; several items showed one or two abstentions but the majority carried each motion. Commissioners also received staff updates on design‑guideline revisions and Cherry Lane future‑land‑use work and were reminded to complete four hours of state‑required continuing education before Dec. 31.
No final land‑use decisions requiring referral to City Council were decided at the Nov. 19 meeting beyond the easement recommendation; the Redeemer Classical Academy rezoning was set for a Dec. 3 public hearing for additional public input.
