White Oak Borough Council approved contracts to build and outfit a new borough pickleball court during the Nov. 17 meeting. Staff presented two quotes: Snyder Recreation via CoStars for $14,121.62 for equipment (nets, benches, trash receptacles) and MERN Incorporated for $123,500 for paving, fencing and stormwater/drainage work.
Council amended and corrected a transposed figure during the meeting before voting. After the correction, council approved the Snyder Recreation purchase and the MERN Incorporated site-work contract and authorized the borough manager to sign all documents related to the purchases.
Engineer/manager Amber told council, "We received a quote from ... Snyder Recreation in the amount of $14,121.62" and also reported a separate quote from "MERN Incorporated in the amount of $123,500." The council approved both motions by voice vote.
The meeting record does not specify the funding source for the site-work contract beyond the quoted amounts, nor does it record any roll-call vote counts. Project timelines, start dates, and contingency language were not included in the oral record.
