Riverwoods trustees approved two vendor contracts for public-works repairs during the meeting.
Director Witt described a leaking hydrant near 1404 Blackheath believed to be caused by an auxiliary valve issue; Demuth Inc submitted the lowest responsible bid and was approved for replacement work in an amount not to exceed $13,000.
Witt also reported that HT Stringer recommended full replacement of a grinder pump station at 2709 Jiminy Lane after piping had punched through bedding due to system settlement and continued infiltration; trustees approved a contract with HT Stringer for up to $19,500.
Both motions passed by roll-call vote; directors said the work is intended to prevent winter freeze/failure and restore proper pump operation.
