Beltrami County staff seek authority to sign new ag-inspector grant that could bring ~$10,300

The grant application budget includes training for staff to be designated county inspectors and costs to host an annual lead meeting for township officers and noxious-weed enforcement outreach.
Brent asked commissioners to authorize staff to sign the grant agreement via DocuSign; the matter was placed on the consent agenda for the regular meeting. Commissioners questioned whether an active noxious-weed committee still exists and whether the grant would cover expected activities; Brent said counties are encouraged to resume annual weed meetings and that the grant covers training and meeting costs.
No formal vote occurred during the work session; Brent indicated approving the authorization on the consent agenda would permit staff to accept state funds and reimbursements for covered activities.
