STATESBORO, Ga. — In addition to tabling a controversial rezoning, the Statesboro mayor and city council on Nov. 18 voted to approve several ordinances, contracts and funding items.
Landfill annexations: Council approved multiple annexation ordinances to support a joint city–county landfill expansion, allowing the city to manage permitting. Justin Williams (city staff) said the annexations were part of a coordinated effort and no members of the public spoke against those ordinances.
