Mayor Erica A. Stewart presented two proclamations: one recognizing Restorative Partners and declaring November 2025 as Restorative Justice Week in San Luis Obispo County, and another designating Nov. 20, 2025 as Transgender Day of Remembrance in the city.
Representatives from Restorative Partners thanked the council. Dallas Rippey, the organization's conference program manager, described restorative conferencing, transitional housing, treatment and reentry services and said the organization now offers wraparound support from its Walter Center office. A speaker identified in the transcript as Sister Theresa (founder/executive director) shared a client success story and invited the public to support the organization's Bridge Café employment opportunities.
Linnea Valdivia, program manager at the Caleb Pride & Diversity Center, accepted the Transgender Day of Remembrance proclamation and described the community impact of anti‑trans violence. Valdivia invited the public to a community art show and gathering on Nov. 20 at 1060 Palm Street and requested continued city support for inclusive programming and services for transgender and gender‑diverse residents.
Both proclamations were framed as recognitions and community invitations; no formal policy votes accompanied the presentations.
