Saint Charles council approves omnibus consent, a restaurant liquor license; presents Main St. Charles awards
Summary

The Saint Charles City Council approved an omnibus consent package and a liquor-license application and recognized three local businesses during its Oct. 25 meeting.
A motion by Alderman Salkaitis to approve the omnibus consent agenda was seconded and carried by roll call; all present voted yes. (Alderman Salkaitis)
The council then considered a Class B1 liquor license application for Fire and Wine St. Charles LLC at 300 North Kirk Road. Chief Lichen told council the Liquor Commission had unanimously approved the application earlier and background checks raised no issues; owner Brian Goe was present. Council moved to approve the license by roll call and the motion passed unanimously. (Chief Lichen)
Earlier in the meeting, Nate Lent of the St. Charles Business Alliance presented the 2025 Main St. Charles awards. Winners highlighted by the alliance were Dickey Manufacturing Company (established 1911 and located at 3632 Stern Avenue), R.W. Rogers Company (established 1963 at 105 Industrial Drive) and The Bike Rack (2930 Hampton Hills Road), which marked its 50th anniversary this year. Alliance staff thanked volunteers and vendor Award Concepts, Inc. for producing the awards.
The meeting concluded with brief committee reports, public comment (a listening session on immigration- and surveillance-related concerns) and a motion to adjourn. The council did not take action on immigration or surveillance ordinances at this meeting.
