Carrie Cook, presenting for the Environmental Sustainability Committee, recommended amending Lake Forest City Code section 1-35.108 (Noise Generally) to tighten allowable hours for landscaping equipment.
Cook said the proposed changes shorten weekday hours by 30 minutes (now ending at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m.), shift Saturday start from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and end Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (instead of 5:30 p.m.), and prohibit commercial landscaping equipment use on Sundays and holidays. She told council that a homeowner exception would preserve existing residential hours and that staff would notify licensed landscaping firms, HOAs and update web communications if the ordinance is adopted.
Council moved to waive first reading and grant final approval; the roll-call vote was 7–0 in favor.
