During a brief recess of the county board to convene as the rail authority, county staff explained a request to formalize an existing driveway crossing the railroad authority property by issuing a quit-claim easement. Staff reported the location had been used historically (including under prior railroad ownership), asked the authority to approve a 66-foot-wide easement and suggested a nominal fee of $500 consistent with past transactions. A motion to grant the easement and charge the nominal fee was moved and seconded; the authority approved the action by voice vote and the county board reconvened.
