Renton resident tells council police violated Adam Walsh Act, says detectives obstructed investigation

"Your police department had violated the Adam Walsh Child Protection Act," Hudson said during her remarks. She told the council she would add the city to a federal complaint once certain administrative time limits lapse.
The mayor declined to comment on an active legal matter during the meeting; no city staff or police representative provided a response on the record at that time. The mayor did say camera use by outside agencies (raised separately by another commenter) will be discussed on next week—s public safety agenda. The council did not take formal action in response to Hudson—s remarks during the meeting.
The allegations raise potential legal and investigative issues that would require response and records from the Renton Police Department and partnering county units; council and staff did not announce any immediate administrative follow‑up during the session.
