Jackson City Council approved a series of consent-calendar items on Nov. 18 that included equipment purchases, contract amendments and grant-funded projects.
Key approvals: purchase of three hybrid Ford Explorer police vehicles under state contract at a total of $137,733 (motion passed 6–1), purchase of a Freightliner cab and chassis and related upfits for $211,859, amendment No. 2 to a major street engineering contract with Hubbell, Rupp & Clark at a not-to-exceed $216,800, and multiple change orders to sewer cleaning and interception contracts with Taplin Group and others that overall adjusted several project totals (some increases and decreases as shown in the agenda packet). The council also approved a $505,800 grant-funded playground installation at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center; staff said this project is fully paid by grant dollars and involves no local-tax funding.
Other consent actions included approval of a four-year contract with Hydro Corp Inc. for cross-connection inspections ($247,482), acceptance of a brownfield plan for 908 Greenwood and updates to CDBG- and ARPA-funded housing rehabilitation program guidelines. Most items passed unanimously unless otherwise recorded.
