Tony, the NWS Warning Coordination Meteorologist, described the program—s rigorous criteria: a 24-hour warning point and modern emergency operations center, redundant means to receive and disseminate warnings, monitoring of local weather and river conditions, public outreach and hazardous-weather education, and an exercised hazardous-weather plan. The presenter emphasized that StormReady designation is an ongoing commitment and that the county will recertify every four years.
County director Michael Durkin accepted remarks and noted staff contributions to updating the county plan since 2019.
