At its Nov. 17 meeting the Bel Air Board of Town Commissioners approved a housekeeping amendment to operations/administration finance policy IE‑6 that updates who can sign checks on the town’s operating account. Commissioner Steve Chismar moved to approve the amendment; a town staff member described the change as administrative, explaining the update removes outgoing commissioners and adds newly seated commissioners to the bank signature cards. The board approved the amendment by unanimous roll call.
The board also appointed Marissa Canino to the Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission for a three‑year term effective immediately. Commissioner Taylor moved the appointment and staff (Mr. Robertson) recommended Canino, citing her background in arts administration, grant writing and visual arts. The appointment passed by unanimous vote.
The meeting’s consent and voting items also included approval of the agenda, and an amendment and approval of prior meeting minutes.
Next steps: staff will process updated signature cards with the town’s banking institution and notify the Cultural Arts Commission of the new appointment. No budgetary or policy changes beyond the signedatory update were taken at the meeting.
