Delta County board confirms appointments, zoning change, bills payment and personnel items

At its Nov. 18 meeting the Delta County Board of Commissioners handled several routine and administrative items. The board appointed Mr. Yeager to fill a planning-commission vacancy for the remainder of the term and approved zoning case 11-25-PC, which changes three parcels from open space to resource production as recommended by the planning commission.
The board accepted the resignation of a recently hired dispatcher (about 12 weeks of service), approved a lump-sum payout to finalize payroll and authorized filling the dispatch opening. The board also named Dr. Cristinelli as the county medical examiner for Electronic Death Registry System (EDRS) purposes to clarify the contract with Dickinson County.
In other business, the board approved purchasing small phone-connected recording devices as a stopgap measure to support recording secretaries across several committees, and approved payment of county claims totaling $460,929.07 (commissioner expenses $2,196.20). The administrator said FY24 audit work is being finalized and that the Parks & Recreation five-year plan draft will be posted for public comment starting Dec. 2.
The board entered closed session for collective bargaining negotiations under the OMA reference noted on the agenda and reported no decisions were made in that closed session. The meeting concluded with commissioner announcements and scheduling the next meeting for Dec. 2 at the Service Center.
