Arcadia board sets 2026 meeting calendar, approves minor policy change

The Arcadia Fire Protection District board on Nov. 12 approved a calendar of regular meetings for 2026 and adopted a small modification to its policy manual to change meeting day language from the second Tuesday to the second Thursday each month.
Staff presented the proposed Exhibit A schedule showing dates that avoid holidays and recommended adoption of Resolution 25-338. The board discussed logistical benefits, including an extra two days for staff to distribute reports and the location listed as Fire Station 631, 9th Street, Arcadia. "Gives you two more days to get staff reports out," one director said during discussion.
Staff said legal counsel advised the change was minor and could be approved in one action without a 30-day notice. The board approved the meeting schedule and the policy manual amendment in separate motions.
