Board President Quigley introduced the motion and the board proceeded to a roll-call vote that recorded affirmative votes from all members. After the vote, Dr. Teresa Paulson addressed the board and audience, saying she was "beyond humbled, honored, and truly blessed to be in this position this evening." She described Valley View as "my home" and expressed appreciation for mentors, students, staff and community support.
Board members praised Paulson’s experience and the search process. President Quigley said the board conducted a superintendent search with community input and interviews, and that the result was the board’s decision to appoint an internal candidate who met the district’s stated priorities.
