The group also reviewed evaluation criteria provided by the Local Government Center and summarized public comments to guide deliberations.
The working group said it would deliver comparative research on how peer jurisdictions structure their legislative branches and commissioner pay, and expected to submit a clean draft for county‑attorney review soon. Commissioners agreed to invite the county attorney to review the draft language before the commission acts on any recommendation.
No formal charter change was adopted at the meeting; the working group will return recommended language and supporting analysis for further deliberation.
