The Temecula Valley Unified School District board on Tuesday reported a string of formal actions taken in closed session and during open session.
In closed session the board approved a separation and release agreement between the district and Superintendent Dr. Gary W. Woods effective Jan. 1, 2026. The motion, moved by Member Melinda Anderson and seconded by Member Steven Schwartz, was adopted 5–0. Trustees also approved several settlement agreements for classified employees and a confidential settlement with Kronos, a UKG company, each by unanimous vote. A separate settlement listed as "LB" was approved 4–1 with one abstention.
The board certified a new meeting date for its December reorganizational meeting — Dec. 4, 2025 — and agreed to post a special‑meeting notice to accommodate an interim budget posting timeline. That motion was adopted unanimously.
On consent and action votes the board:
- Approved the Elementary and Middle School Instructional Leadership Team and Professional Learning Community stipend memorandum of understanding (10/21/2025) with the Temecula Valley Educators Association (unanimous).
- Adopted a resolution authorizing district staff to use the design‑build project delivery method under Education Code section 17250.1 for certain facility projects districtwide (unanimous).
- Adopted a resolution authorizing the district to use the best‑value procurement method under Public Contract Code section 2019.8 for applicable construction and modernization projects exceeding $1,000,000 (unanimous).
- Approved a new certificated administrative job description for Assistant Director of Compliance (unanimous).
The board also nominated two trustees to the California School Boards Association Delegate Assembly for the 2026–28 term. Dr. Joseph Komaroski was nominated and confirmed unanimously; Steven Schwartz was nominated and confirmed 4–1.
