The City of Greenfield’s Finance and Human Resources Committee on Nov. 12 approved a set of routine financial and personnel items, including a vending machine agreement with Bender Vending LLC that the committee directed to benefit the city’s Quality of Life fund.
Mister Katz, a representative for Bender Vending LLC, described the proposed contract to place two machines at City Hall — one for cold beverages and one for snacks — operated and maintained by the vendor. The agreement is written as a one-year contract terminable by either party with 30 days’ written notice. Mister Katz said the vendor would handle stocking and service and that the city would receive 10% of gross sales, to be deposited into the fund specified by the council.
A motion to approve the vending agreement with proceeds directed to the Quality of Life fund was made and seconded; the committee voted unanimously to approve it. Committee members discussed product mix and suggested healthier options when machines serve park-and-recreation users.
Separately, the committee approved mileage reimbursements “in the amount of 612 dollars and 64 cents,” and it approved schedules of disbursements totaling $1,661,134.36. The committee also took several personnel and organizational actions: it approved a 2026 non-represented staff resolution and an organizational chart, it amended the employee classification ordinance effective Dec. 29, 2025, and it memorialized the municipal judge’s compensation package (discussion noted no changes to compensation or benefits and that the municipal judge’s election is next April).
The committee met in closed session under Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85(1)(c), (e) and (f) to consider employment and bargaining matters and then reconvened in open session. The meeting adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
