Rosemount proclaims Nov. 18 Peter Lindell Day as firefighter retires after 56 years

The Rosemount City Council on Nov. 18 adopted a proclamation naming the day in honor of Peter (Pete) Lindell as he retires after 56 years with the Rosemount Fire Department.
Acting Mayor Tammy Klimpel read the proclamation and turned the floor over to Fire Chief Kip Springer, who praised Lindell’s long service. Springer said Lindell joined the department in 1969 and estimated Lindell had responded to "well over 10,000" fire calls during his tenure, noting his role in training and mentoring multiple generations of firefighters. "Think about the thousands and thousands of hours of training that Pete put in, to make this community safer," Springer said.
Lindell addressed the council and attendees, thanking his family and colleagues. "It's been an honor and a privilege to serve with the firefighters," he said, adding that his family’s support made it possible.
The council moved and seconded the proclamation and approved it by voice vote. Following the formal reading, Lindell received a framed proclamation and photographs were taken.
The ceremony concluded with brief remarks from city leaders and staff as the council returned to the regular agenda.
