City extends Top of the World lease through FY26 as plans for a long-term deal continue

The Board of Estimates on Nov. 19 approved a second extension of a 2005 lease between Baltimore City and the Maryland Port Administration for the Top of the World observation deck.
Deputy Mayor Calvin Young told the board the extension will last through the end of FY26 while the city and the Port Administration negotiate a long-term lease. He said attendance at the attraction is up 40% this year and credited local leadership and community partners for the renewed viability of the venue.
The board moved and seconded the lease-extension item and approved it by ‘ayes’ recorded in the meeting. Officials said the extension preserves the venue while a longer-term agreement is finalized.
