On the subsequent final vote for the amended contract authorization, several aldermen recorded “no” votes (including Aldermen Felix, Turner, Florian, Hayes and Guzman in the roll call reported in the transcript) and the motion failed, so the city did not authorize the contract at that meeting.
Staff said prior contracts with the staffing firm had been used by the city, and proponents framed the requested authorization as limited and budget‑constrained. Opponents raised concerns about cost, oversight and whether a local candidate could meet needs. The failure leaves the city to seek alternative arrangements or revisit the request at a future meeting.
