Community High School District 155’s board on Monday approved routine finance measures and governance actions, including $11.9 million in board bills, adoption of a tentative 2025 tax levy and acceptance of capital campaign gifts earmarked for stadium and auditorium renovations.
Dr. Werner, the assistant superintendent for finance and operations, presented the treasury report and said October’s ending fund balance was $76,800,000 and the district’s revenue coverage ratio was 48.9%, compliant with fund-balance policy 04/20. He requested approval of board bills totaling $11,900,000 for the period Oct. 15–Nov. 11, saying roughly $8 million covered payroll and about $3.9 million covered vendor payments. The board voted by roll call to approve the bills.
Werner also moved to adopt a resolution to post the tentative 2025 tax levy and public notice; the board approved the resolution and will hear a Truth in Taxation presentation at next month’s public hearing. The board approved a separate resolution authorizing acceptance of gifts to help fund stadium and auditorium renovations at the district’s high schools.
In new business the board named Stephanie Mackro as the district’s delegate to the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) delegate assembly and Nicole Pavorg as alternate. The board also granted the delegate or alternate authority to vote on resolutions and constitutional amendments at the IASB assembly in accordance with the board’s consensus on Nov. 22, 2025. Board members said they expect to follow IASB recommendations unless an item requires further discussion.
All motions reported in the meeting were adopted by roll-call votes recorded as unanimous.
