The Cumming City Council voted 5‑0 to add Blunt Construction to the city’s on‑call demand service provider list for large‑scale or emergency repairs.
Staff said the current on‑call list included only two contractors and recommended adding a third (Blunt Construction) because the city sometimes requires immediate response in situations where standard bidding timelines are impractical. "We would like your approval tonight to add Blunt Construction to this list as they provide the necessary equipment and services that would benefit the city when one of these emergency types of repair is needed," staff said.
A council member moved to approve, a second was given, and the council voted unanimously to add the company to the emergency repair list. Staff said the contractors are used only when time is of the essence and standard proposal periods cannot be observed.
