Union County Public Schools’ curriculum committee voted Nov. 19 to forward a sole‑source purchase of a FarmBot to the full school board for approval.

Doctor Rogers described the purchase as intended to support agricultural education and AgTech programming; Mr. Davis, director of career readiness, was present to answer questions. Committee members praised the initiative and noted existing FarmBot installations elsewhere in the district and the planned device for AgTech instruction at Piedmont Middle School.

A committee member moved to send the sole‑source purchase to the full board and another seconded; the referral passed by voice vote (3–0). The committee did not approve procurement itself; final authorization will occur at the full board meeting.
