The Franklin Regional School Board approved consent agenda items 1–16 on Nov. 17, adopting routine contracts, administrative lists and several operational items presented earlier in the meeting.
Highlights of the consent agenda included the annual contract with the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf; updated lists of bus and van drivers and bus stops for 2025–26; authorization for several facility repairs and replacements (including a boiler yoke repair at the middle school, replacement auditorium spotlights and new main‑gym bleachers to address ADA and mechanical concerns); and personnel approvals contingent on required clearances.
Transportation staff told the board they are still actively recruiting CDL drivers and that recent weeks have required some doubled‑up runs and additional training time. "We are still, looking for bus drivers... we need more CDL people," a transportation representative said, describing ongoing staffing pressures and temporary operational workarounds.
The board also accepted gifts and grants reported by the district: $1,000 from PPG for robotics supplies, $1,000 via regional foundations for an 'eradicate hate' student summit and $2,500 from a regional mentoring partnership for family engagement activities. General fund transfers of $204,088.81 were listed among budget housekeeping items.
Several non‑routine consent items discussed earlier (for example, the outfield renovation financing reimbursement resolution) were included in the package the board approved; the approval allows the district to proceed with the procedural steps required for potential future borrowing and to reimburse capital expenditures from bond proceeds if necessary.
What happens next
Operational work (repairs, contract implementation and personnel onboarding) will proceed under the usual administrative processes; finance committee and staff will continue to refine the debt and capital plans for board review in upcoming meetings.
