Moody School honored as DESE School of Recognition after marked student‑growth
Summary
Moody Elementary was recognized for the second consecutive year as a DESE School of Recognition after improving from roughly the 6th percentile to about the 30th percentile in two years, a turnaround credited to staff, families and district support.
The committee recognized Moody Elementary School on Nov. 19 as a 2025 Department of Elementary and Secondary Education School of Recognition. Miss Crocker introduced the Moody staff and identified Principal Robbie Keefe as the school leader present to accept the honor.
Miss Crocker said Moody had been in the 6th percentile statewide in 2023 and "has made 30 percentile points of growth in just 2 years," crediting district staff, teachers, families and students for the improvement. Principal Robbie Keefe thanked the committee and district leadership and said the recognition reflected team effort across the Lowell Public Schools.
Committee members offered congratulations. The superintendent and several committee members noted that Lowell now has three DESE Schools of Recognition and praised sustained improvement efforts across the district.
