Speaker 2 explained Policy 832 would permit credit/debit and online payments, arguing they are “way safer than cash” and reduce accounting burdens while noting that cash payments would remain an option during rollout. Committee members asked about connectivity in remote campus areas and the need to specify payment vendors and offline acceptance of transactions.
On Policy 214, speakers clarified the proposed change removes mandatory "level 1/2/3" designations for multi‑year electives and instead uses course labeling (CP, honors, AP) and the course guide to determine weighted grade points; the committee discussed how second‑ or third‑year elective offerings (concert band, multivariable calculus) would be categorized but agreed the weighting would be set by course rigor.
Administration will post the drafts for a public comment period in November and return recommendations and any revised language to the full board for action in December.
