TAC approves Town of Ashland wayfinding agreement for Fall Line Trail

The Central Virginia Transportation Authority Technical Advisory Committee on Nov. 23 approved a project agreement that will fund wayfinding signage for the Town of Ashland’s portion of the Fall Line Trail.
CVTA staff explained the request was similar to prior agreements for Henrico and Hanover and said the project’s cost is low enough that an RFP procurement is not required; staff recommended obtaining a small number of quotes instead.
A TAC member moved to approve the Ashland agreement and a second was recorded; the TAC approved the item by voice vote. During discussion members confirmed that the wayfinding destinations would follow the list developed during the Fall Line Trail wayfinding process and that major destinations (for example, the Secretariat Monument) would be included if they were on the agreed destination list.
The item will be recorded in meeting materials and the project is expected to proceed with fabrication and installation of signs once quotes and procurement steps are completed.
