The Melbourne Beach commission used the Nov. 19 meeting to assign representation to regional organizations and to ask its Technology Advisory Board to take on two volunteer projects.

Commissioners appointed Tim Reed as the town’s primary representative to the Space Coast League of Cities and Anna Butler as alternate; the motion carried 5–0.

Bruce Larson, chair of the Technology Advisory Board, asked the commission to authorize the board to review two priorities: the town-hall audiovisual system (to improve meeting audio/visual capabilities in council chambers) and the town’s integrated business-process software (BS&A/ERP) to determine whether current modules and training meet municipal needs. Commissioners voted 5–0 to add those tasks to the board’s workload and to request an advisory report back to the commission.

What’s next: The advisory board will prioritize its work, meet and report recommendations on AV upgrades and software module use to the commission so the town can plan any budgetary investments.
