Committee advances bill letting small Florida counties opt back into transportation concurrency

Representative Groh, the bill sponsor, told the committee the change applies to counties defined in statute as having populations under 200,000; he said 38 counties meet that threshold. He said allowing counties to opt back in would support sustainable growth in smaller communities. There were no amendments, no public witnesses, and no member questions recorded in the committee hearing.
After the presentation the committee took a roll call and the chair announced the bill was reported favorably. The committee did not record further debate or a fiscal analysis during the hearing. The bill will move to the next legislative stage for further consideration.
