During public comment, resident Scott Daegleback asked how a proposed change to the RV-park ordinance would affect people living in RVs next to houses, raised concerns about multiple cars parked in yards on city streets, and commended the city for repairing a Veterans Day water leak promptly.
At the Nov. 19 Tooele City Council meeting, resident Scott Daegleback used the public comment period to raise three items for the council’s attention.
Daegleback said he was unsure how a recently discussed change to the city’s ordinance on RV parks would apply to situations where a family member lives in an RV parked next to a house. He said he did not yet know where he stood on the change but worried the ordinance might affect those arrangements and suggested one administrative option could be to designate a facility called Switchpoint as an RV park so residents would have a permitted location.
Daegleback also reported multiple properties with numerous cars parked in front yards and along the street, saying that in one instance he counted as many as 16 cars. He asked whether the city had mechanisms to address the situation.
Finally, Daegleback described finding a substantial water leak near his home on Veterans Day. He said he contacted the city, and although the first contact was challenging because it was a holiday, he later reached a city employee and the city fixed the leak within several hours; he praised the response as "admirable." The resident closed by thanking the council for their attention.
The council did not take formal action on these public comments during the meeting; the public comment period was closed after no additional speakers came forward.
