The plan preserves existing mature trees by rotating and siting play elements within the tree canopy, reduces the size of an artificial-turf event lawn (presenter compared it to a roughly 16,000–18,000-square-foot downtown turf), and adds a pond, an amphitheater-style grassy slope, additional restrooms, parking improvements and a raised asphalt lot for the BMX track.
