Votes at a glance: Milton council approves minutes, consent agenda and two ordinances

The Milton City Council on Oct. 14 approved a range of routine measures including amended minutes from the Sept. 9 regular meeting, minutes from two Sept. 25 special called meetings, the general consent agenda and first readings of two city ordinances.
Staff read the consent agenda for the record, listing items that included appointment to the continuum of care council, a Milton Police Department memorandum of agreement, special event permits for Saint Mary's Winterfest and Reimagine Milton 2026, the 2026 business improvement grant application, a new Public Works vehicle for the natural gas crew, the Natalie Meadows planned development developer agreement, purchase of a Rosenbauer mini pumper for the Fire Department, and JAG grant funding for replacement police radios.
Council moved and unanimously approved the general consent agenda following a motion and second. The city attorney presented Ordinance 12-25, proposing amendments to the unified building code and subdivision approval standards; the council approved it on first reading. The council then considered Ordinance 13-25, updating right-of-way maintenance standards, and approved that ordinance on first reading as well, each by unanimous vote.
Other routine items approved included minutes from special meetings regarding the wastewater treatment plant and Laughlin Lake.
No changes to the consent items were recorded beyond the single addition to the Sept. 9 minutes noted by a councilmember at the start of the meeting, and the JAG radio funding item had been added to consent during the work session.
