Resolution 2026‑3 authorizes a state‑funded grant agreement for Redstone Avenue pedestrian safety and sidewalks near the hospital and Brookmeade intersection; Resolution 2026‑4 authorizes a grant for improvements to Grama Boulevard, including conversion to a four‑leg intersection and associated roadwork. The manager told the council the Redstone project is well underway, that contractors have been awarded and that contracts include stipulations to meet timelines; the Grama Boulevard project is in design and anticipated to be complete within the grant window through 2027.
Councilmembers asked staff about project timelines and the manager said contractors will be held to contract terms and staff expect earlier completion in some cases. Both FDOT resolutions were adopted unanimously 5‑0.
Next steps: City staff will execute grant agreements and coordinate with FDOT and contractors on design and construction schedules; as one manager put it, the projects aim to enhance safety and economic development in the project areas.
