Committee confirms judges and multiple board nominees; several appointments approved by voice votes

- Transportation Licensing Commission: The committee nominated and approved Rogers to fill a vacancy through Oct. 20, 2027. The nominee described prior service on the TLC and emphasized multimodal priorities — “There’s no such thing as too many bicycles,” the nominee said — and raised staffing and fee considerations for the commission.
- Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission: Chris Wineman, who said he has served on the board of Walk Bike Nashville for seven years and works for an engineering/architecture firm, was approved for a term expiring March 24, 2027. Wineman emphasized pedestrian and bicyclist safety and urged broader geographic outreach to underrepresented parts of the city.
- Human Relations Commission: Kate Feldhaus Jackson was approved for a term expiring July 22, 2028. Jackson told the committee she supports the commission’s role investigating workplace complaints and advancing inclusion and anti-discrimination education.
- Consolidated confirmations: The committee consolidated and approved appointments including Jeffrey Stovall (Metropolitan Board of Health), David Lawrence (Metro Development and Housing Agency), Harriet Dang (Metro Planning Commission) and reappointments for Janie Camper and Jay Fulmer to the Stormwater Management Commission.
Committee members asked nominees about outreach, equity and practical capacity to serve. Several members encouraged community nominations to fill remaining vacancies. The confirmations were recorded as approved by committee and will proceed according to established council procedures.
