In brief procedural actions at the November Lincoln County Board of Commissioners meeting, Bill Newman was elected chair (to serve until next September) by acclamation and Ricky Bryant was selected as chair pro tem. The body unanimously approved last month's minutes.
The commission also unanimously appointed Dora Wissinet to fill an unexpired term on the county records committee and approved a list of notary-public applicants read by the clerk. The meeting moved into new business for a broad planning/zoning discussion about how the county defines "commercial" uses and whether to expand special exceptions for small businesses; staff said Planning & Zoning is already working on language to address some of those concerns.
The commission adjourned after the new-business discussion.
