The Charlottesville City Council took two formal actions during its Nov. 17 work session.
The council approved a staff request to defer the Durry Bridge Road project to the Dec. 1 meeting. The amended agenda was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the mayor recorded "Motion passes 4 0." The motion text on the record was to approve the agenda minus the Durry Bridge Road project and to place that project on the Dec. 1 meeting.
Later in the session the council voted to enter a closed session citing Virginia Code section 2.2-3711 for consultation with legal counsel. The chair read the cited language as "pursuant to Virginia code section 2.2 dash 37 11 a 7 ... and 2, pursuant to Virginia code section 2.2 dash 37 11 8 a 8," and the council proceeded by voice vote to enter closed session.
No further public action on either item was reported during the work session; the deferral will appear on the Dec. 1 agenda.
