At the Fayette City Council meeting Treasurer Miss Clapp presented the October check register and reported total expenditures of $1,009,888.
Miss Clapp identified several notable items in the register: $424,307.98 paid to the County Hospital Board as the annual HACCESS sales tax distribution; $11,002.13 for a police car repair; $6,003.86 in Christmas-at-the-park expenses that will be reimbursed from a special fund; and an $18.98 transfer to clear the city's Mastercard payment. Miss Clapp explained that the large $424,307.98 payment is an annual outlay and that the monthly total is not typical.
Council members asked clarifying questions and then moved to approve the treasurer's report. Councilman Harry moved the approval; Councilman Williams seconded and the council voted aye.
The treasurer's report will be moved earlier on future agendas so police and fire reports and the financial summary appear near the start of meetings.
