Council Member Demetrio moved the item, and Public Works staff confirmed meetings with adjacent property stakeholders and organizations (Mayberry Ranch and OPA) to coordinate alignment. The council approved the appropriation on voice vote (6 yes, 1 absent).
City staff said the funds will be used to complete the next phase of design and construction for the trail extension; staff will continue outreach with property owners and stakeholders as the project advances.
The funding acceptance allows the city to proceed with project planning and obligate the matching funds.
