Dan Levendusky, Webster County Veterans Affairs director, presented two reports at the Oct. 7 board meeting: the fiscal‑year 2024 geographic distribution of VA expenditures (GDX) and the fiscal‑year 2025 rollup of veterans served by the county office.
Levendusky said the FY24 GDX shows $11,708,633 in compensation payments that he characterized as "new money coming into the local economy from service‑related injuries," and he added the local VA clinic brought in "just over $20,000,000" during the same fiscal year. He noted those figures are typically published late and that he had just received the report on Oct. 1.
On the FY25 persons‑served report, Levendusky said the office paid out $10,948.67 to assist indigent veterans with rent, utilities or burial; he said those payments are decided by a commission rather than his office alone.
Board members had no further substantive questions; motions to receive and place both reports on file were made and carried by voice vote.
