Potter County Commissioners Court appointed Ben Wade as records management director during its Oct. 13 session and set a recommended starting salary of $70,000 with a 3% cost‑of‑living adjustment to be applied similarly to other employees.
S2 moved to appoint Ben Wade and recommended the $70,000 starting salary with the 3% COLA on top; S13 seconded and the appointment was approved. Ben Wade, who spoke to the court, said he was "super humbled by this" and thanked commissioners for the opportunity; he introduced his wife, Jada Wade, who was present.
Commissioners discussed payout of accrued comp time tied to a previous nonexempt role and agreed those compensation technicalities and a possible cell‑phone allowance transition would be brought back in a properly published agenda item for formal approval to ensure compliance with agenda posting rules.
The court approved the appointment; staff said the comp‑time payout and related personnel administrative items will be returned for formal action at the next commissioners court when properly published.
