Potter County jail needs assessment nears completion; facility repairs and elevator upgrades approved

Potter County Commissioners Court received several facilities updates on Oct. 13, approving Burns Architecture invoices for the jail needs assessment and authorizing safety and communications upgrades for the Santa Fe Building.
S16 said Burns' report is roughly 90% complete and that the firm awaits an updated facility needs analysis from the jail commission to finalize the study. The court approved two $20,000 invoices for part one of the needs assessment.
The court also approved Crossroads Technologies to install five cellular elevator communicators in the Santa Fe Building for $3,380, citing AT&T's planned retirement of copper lines, and authorized a $350‑per‑month elevator audio monitoring agreement. S10 said the cellular dialers will be tied to emergency generator power so they remain functional during power outages.
Construction and courthouse maintenance updates included ongoing backfilling work at a county project, continued investigation and warranty work on a leak in the Central Jury Room, and scheduled OAC meetings for project oversight. The court approved contract payments and instructed staff to pursue corrective work under warranty where applicable.
