Potter County Commissioners Court approved a 60‑month agreement with Axon on Oct. 13 that covers body and dash cameras, tasers and live translation services for each constable's office.
S17, who discussed the procurement, said the county previously used WatchGuard but that system became incompatible after county computers moved to Windows 11, describing the shift as: "once our computers went to Windows 11, WatchGuard came obsolete." He said Axon provides a financing option spread over five years and includes annual provisions such as training cartridges for tasers.
The agreement is budgeted from each constable office's noncapital equipment funds and was approved by the court 5–0. Commissioners noted the small budget overrun for the translation feature would be covered by internal savings in ammunition or radio service accounts for the year.
The contract covers equipment, installation and annual services under the five‑year term; staff will proceed with implementation and coordinate deployment with the constables' offices.
