On the burn ban the presiding officer said he contacted seven fire chiefs, who "were all very cautious and felt like it should stay in place" because brush is dry and can ignite quickly. The sheriff added bluntly, "It's dry," describing brittle pasture conditions. Commissioners agreed to leave the burn ban in place; no roll-call vote transcript was recorded beyond the court's decision to continue the ban.
The meeting included routine approval of the sheriff's report: Commissioner Farmer moved to accept the report and Commissioner Clark seconded; the court approved the motion by voice vote.
